from the black death in 14th century to the Lyme disease and AIDS in 20th century and to today's SARS... it's an unending relay in which our technology and science keep on running faster and faster to find remedies for the diseases initially thought to be cure-less, and once we see light at the end of the tunnel, we once again plunge into a dark hole as a new illness pops up before our eyes, chasing after us. and the relay goes on and on. does this heighten the validity of "the survival of the fittest" as the weak is left behind and the nature chooses the strong? or is this supposed to teach us how fragile and precious our lives are, and that we must cherish them? or is there no meaning to it at all, and that's just the way it is..?
